And we also have the set list for the lego Harry Potter theme for the sets expected to be released in January 20026. Last year the Knight Bus was delayed till March, and we've had other years with two winter release dates, so there's always a chance they don't all hit the shelves at the same time, but this is what we know so far: set names, numbers and possible price points. As they were given in dollars, I imagine we'll see some changes there... 😕Read more... )

This summer lego is introducing three different book nooks. One from the Harry Potter theme, one from the Lord of the Rings / Hobbit theme, and the third is a tribute to Sherlock Holmes. All three have a 01 June 2025 release date. Pictures of the LotR set have leaked now, so let's take a look at them, shall we? Read more... )

And that's the three new Book Nooks for you. Which, if any, are you more likely to buy? Did I miss any Easter eggs in the Sherlock Holmes set? And is it too, too frightfully obvious which set I liked best? 😆

So after my multi-paragraph whinge about the planting in the lego Harry Potter set 76445 Hogwarts Castle: Herbology Class from the 2025 summer wave, we're now seeing a preview of a new set in the Wednesday series. And why do I bring it up, you might ask? Also bearing in mind that this is the theme that brought us the adorable gargoyles last year (later used in the 2025 76453 Malfoy Manor), 76784 lego Wednesday Black Dahlia Flower is well worth mentioning in its own right (and certainly in this context) because in addition to a buildable flower (a dahlia, obvs), it includes a mini-greenhouse, also worth mentioning because that greenhouse (in stark contrast to the 2024+ Hogwarts Herbology greenhouse) contains some nice plant builds, certainly for the price. Fateful is back with a new leak, and they've got this summer's version of Fluffy for us. WooHoo! And he's looking good. We can expect it to appear in the 76454 Hogwarts Main Tower set for something like $250 (more on that in a later post), which confirms rumours that it's a Philosopher's Stone / Sorcerer's Stone based set from first year. Pics of the two sets from the 2025 Lego Harry Potter Winter Wave are beneath the fold... Frankly they're good enough that even if you aren't normally the sort to peek at spoilers, this one is worth it.

Both sets come with a portrait from the collectible series introduced in 2024.Read more... )

In honour of Snape's most excellent arm printing (thank you, lego!), here Potter Puppet Pals' "Snape's Diary", which includes the even more excellent Snape's Ode to his Buttons (it begins at the 1:57 mark, but the embedded player doesn't seem to want to start from there):

We now have better quality pictures from Smyths of the new lego Harry Potter Winter 2025 wave sets the nanoscale 76444 Diagon Alley: Wizarding Shops and 76453 Malfoy Manor. They're 2750 and 1601 pieces respectively and due out 01 January 2025. Read more... )

And because he's not included in the Malfoy Manor set, a shout out to Harry and the Potters and their classic, "(No one's asking) 'Where's Ron?'" (aka "Where the hell is Ron?"):

Pix have leaked of the new lego Harry Potter Winter 2025 wave set 76443 Hagrid and Harry's Motorcycle Ride with Hagrid on his motorcycle and Harry in the sidecar with a buildable Hedwig. The set with 617 pieces is due out in January 2025. Read more... )

It appears to be from promotional material sent to stores and affiliates, where several of the same images have been used in a variety of configurations and at least two potential campaigns. We definitely have 'Back to Hogwarts' and 'Happy Birthday, Harry' material. The first segment below comes from a South American ad celebrating Harry's birthday, and contains no spoilers (the same can't be said of the Back to Hogwarts posters below the fold from a Chilean lego store, if you'd care to avoid them):

We have our first (tiny and blurry) Burrow leak! Release date 1st September. With a 1st September "Back to Hogwarts" campaign, lego seem to have found their answer for the Harry Potter theme to the "May the 4th be with you" from the Star Wars line. Read more... )

2020's 75980 Attack on the Burrow is a great set, and I honestly don't think they can tempt me with this one, both because of its price and my ever shrinking space. That said, it's looking good, and I can't wait to see the pictures of the interior and the minifigs. 😊

It sounds like they're trying to appeal to different tastes and budgets, which is great, and it appears they're also paying appropriate attention to those of us who feel we've purchased enough castle variations in the recent past, and aren't enticed by the new Great Hall. I like that they appear to be trying to find a way to still draw us in. It's a shame to leave devoted fans behind when you have such a talented design team. The breadth of the selection also means there's likely to be less "pressure" to chase after the entire wave, which is probably good news for everyone's budget.

We have set names! We're supposed to get seven sets, and if it follows the same pattern as 2024, we should see a polybag and Brickheadz to boot, for nine in total. Piece counts and prices will no doubt follow soon. More information below the fold.Read more... )
