So we have first news of what awaits us during the now annual Back to Hogwarts Special Event lego has for the Harry Potter theme starting every September 1st.

The event will take place 01 - 07 September 2025, with GWPs (gifts with purchase) on offer while supplies last. Experience shows it's worth deciding what, if anything, you want in advance and acting quickly. Please note: the price thresholds for the GWPs may be off, but I'm not sure if this is the result of tariffs. Take them as ballpark figures, and we'll have to wait for official confirmation. I also think there's a good chance the pound and euro numbers are reversed. We'll know soon enough. Read more... )

If you're considering putting together an order for the GWPs, it's worth noting the Harry Potter BrickHeadz go on sale 01 September, and can be used to meet those thresholds. Even if you aren't an avid BrickHeadz collector, they're always worth a consideration for ebay as many people don't order from the lego store directly, although I'm not sure why.

And now we have some news as to the price thresholds for the 2024 lego Harry Potter theme gifts with purchase (GWP)! "Gifts with purchase 9/1-9/10"Read more... )

We now have pictures of this year's lego Harry Potter Polybag, and on the heels of last year's Cho in her Quidditch kit, it's frankly a little unexpected, although it makes more sense looking at some of the older ones. I think it won't be unwelcome, however, especially for people new to the theme.Read more... )

Starting 01 September, fittingly enough, the 2023 Back to Hogwarts Celebration begins. Check your region's lego site for the precise time. US, UK, DE. <- that might matter if you're trying to snag the GWP particularly with a popular purchase (Day One Gringotts, say... 😉)

In the dead of night (do they never sleep???), JB Spielwaren, a German lego store and one of my local sources for my colorful plastic habit, has posted pictures of the new Harry Potter lego Polybag, and they're far cooler than expected! (And also a cheery thanks to brickmerge.de, my hands down favorite price tracker in Germany, for the heads up that the pictures were out there.)

As we'd heard, it is in fact Quidditch themed polybag, 30651 Quidditch Practice, but contrary to previous rumors, it does not feature Ron (sorry, Ron), no, it's Cho Chang in the long desired Ravenclaw Quidditch robes at what is finally a broadly accessible price! W00t!

And w00t again!

I've never been so happy to see Cho in my life. 😆Read more... )

Now, what are the chances Cho's alternative face is sleeping? (Having already disappointed me on this count with 76411 the Ravenclaw House Banner, I'm thinking slim to none. 😆) She's still the only one of the Second Task victims / treasures / rewards we don't have a sleeping face for, and given their preferred choice of darker skin tones for her, that makes it more difficult to find a substitution that's in keeping with the other versions of her minifig. Sleeping Cho! Sleeping Cho! Sleeping Cho! Sleeping Cho! 😴💤💤💤

The GWP (gift with purchase) is currently active in Australia and New Zealand. I've had a poke around their stores and can confirm that they're awarding both GWPs if you make a purchase qualifying for 40577 Hogwarts: Grand Staircase. (So they're including 30435 Build Your Own Hogwarts polybag then as well.) The stores in question also included a third GWP if its threshold was met. (That would be 40529 Children's Amusement Park.) Unfortunately in the absence of the store calendars (*sniffle*), I've no idea if we'll be getting the same deal, but it does make one hope.

Also, if the Australian store is any indication, expect the special offer to start at midnight in the first time zone in your country, because it doesn't look like they distinguish between them. (So in the US that would be at 12am EDT.) The gift with purchases are automatically added to your shopping cart when the conditions are met, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to click something, which is nice. Read more... )

Thanks, gf, for the heads up. 😘

Promobricks reports that we can look forward to another GWP (Gift with Purchase) next month, at least in some regions, so keep your eyes peeled!

As I've already covered, we can expect to see 40577 Hogwarts: Grand Staircase included free of charge as a GWP from the 15th to the 31st of July (or while supplies last) with all qualifying lego Harry Potter purchases in the LEGO S@H (lego's online shop) and in the brick and mortar stores. (In Germany, those are purchases of 130 Euros or more, in the US the threshold is rumoured to be $130. I'll provide details as they emerge.) However during the same period, promobricks has announced we can expect to see this year's HP Polybag 30435 Build Your Own Castle Hogwarts with all lego Harry Potter theme purchases upwards of 40 Euros. In the past, they've stacked freebies, so that would be nice. Last year the Hermione's Study Desk Polybag was only included on purchases made in the physical lego stores, so this would be a lovely change if accurate. w00t!

Above a model I made of eight different variants of the castle from the pieces included in the Polybag (those would be front and centre). Can you design one of your own?
