And we also have the set list for the lego Harry Potter theme for the sets expected to be released in January 20026. Last year the Knight Bus was delayed till March, and we've had other years with two winter release dates, so there's always a chance they don't all hit the shelves at the same time, but this is what we know so far: set names, numbers and possible price points. As they were given in dollars, I imagine we'll see some changes there... ๐Ÿ˜•Read more... )

So we have first news of what awaits us during the now annual Back to Hogwarts Special Event lego has for the Harry Potter theme starting every September 1st.

IMG_5980.webp

The event will take place 01 - 07 September 2025, with GWPs (gifts with purchase) on offer while supplies last. Experience shows it's worth deciding what, if anything, you want in advance and acting quickly. Please note: the price thresholds for the GWPs may be off, but I'm not sure if this is the result of tariffs. Take them as ballpark figures, and we'll have to wait for official confirmation. I also think there's a good chance the pound and euro numbers are reversed. We'll know soon enough. Read more... )

If you're considering putting together an order for the GWPs, it's worth noting the Harry Potter BrickHeadz go on sale 01 September, and can be used to meet those thresholds. Even if you aren't an avid BrickHeadz collector, they're always worth a consideration for ebay as many people don't order from the lego store directly, although I'm not sure why.

The things we knew about the 2025 lego Harry Potter D2C (direct to customer) exclusive set so far...

76457 Hogsmeade Village
Release date: Sept 1, 2025
3228 pieces | $380-430 USD
(US prices unfortunately subject to fluctuations due to tariffs)

We now have some fairly reliable new leaked information.Read more... )

That's what we know for the moment, rumour is we can expect to see the set officially presented next week. As it's a D2C, we're not likely to see much by way of leaks before then.
[identity profile] gingerwitch.livejournal.com
We interrupt the Jane Austen MOC coverage to bring you some (admittedly scant) news about this year's D2C. We knew it was going to be Hogsmeade and had speculated that it would be minifig / playscale as we just had the nanoscale Diagon Alley set, and now we have confirmation on both counts, plus the name, price, and piece count. The 2025 lego Harry Potter theme D2C (Direct to Customer) set 76457 Hogsmeade Village will cost $380 USD (tariffs may yet affect that) and will have contain 3228 bricks. Release date, as we've come to expect, is timed for a 01 September "Back to Hogwarts" event.

Here's hoping it's as good as 75978 the Diagon Alley D2C was. That set has really stood up to the test of time.

This summer lego is introducing three different book nooks. One from the Harry Potter theme, one from the Lord of the Rings / Hobbit theme, and the third is a tribute to Sherlock Holmes. All three have a 01 June 2025 release date. Pictures of the LotR set have leaked now, so let's take a look at them, shall we? Read more... )

And that's the three new Book Nooks for you. Which, if any, are you more likely to buy? Did I miss any Easter eggs in the Sherlock Holmes set? And is it too, too frightfully obvious which set I liked best? ๐Ÿ˜†
[identity profile] gingerwitch.livejournal.com
Welp.

Everyone gets Crimbo jumpers!

Honestly that's about the extent of my positivity here. ๐Ÿ˜• It's a return to the nanoscale or buildable things that you really can't do much with except maybe stick them on your tree and... Why???? What were they thinking? In past years, they've given us some prints we could use for our builds to upgrade stickers or just things that were missing altogether... and instead here we get a completely useless buildable microscale creature or a magical thing. Yay. ๐Ÿ˜ For something that has been my favourite set of the year for years now, this is such a disappointment, so much so I don't think I'll buy one new. Anyway, if that buildup has made you curious and you want to spoil yourself, you'll find a pic beneath the fold. Read more... )

So there's been a crackdown on the individuals leaking the photographic material for the coming sets. Personally, I think it generates buzz, and that's a good thing, the dribs and drabs that keep us hanging on, ever eager for the next crumb, but obviously that's lego's call. One such individual, cmf-wotsit, has developed a workaround, which is sketching the new sets. We've now had confirmation via Fateful that the sketches line up with the pics they've seen for the Hogwarts Express Bookends, and it seems worth posting the latest sketch for 76448 Dumbledoreโ€™s Phoenix (previously $19.99, I'd expect it to go for $23 USD off of recent information about pricing).

We had two likely choices for this set, a small buildable creature or Dumbledore's actual Office (probably the scene where Fawkes helps Dumbles escape, or maybe the one where he regenerates). It looks like we now know which of the two it's going to be. Spoilers beneath the fold. Read more... )

Fateful is back with a new leak, and they've got this summer's version of Fluffy for us. WooHoo! And he's looking good. We can expect it to appear in the 76454 Hogwarts Main Tower set for something like $250 (more on that in a later post), which confirms rumours that it's a Philosopher's Stone / Sorcerer's Stone based set from first year. We now have a picture of the Hogwarts Express Bookends which will be part of this summer's wave of Harry Potter them lego sets. As previously mentioned, it contains the 9 3/4 Station Platform in the background, and looks like a cute set. Read more... )

Pics of the two sets from the 2025 Lego Harry Potter Winter Wave are beneath the fold... Frankly they're good enough that even if you aren't normally the sort to peek at spoilers, this one is worth it.

In honour of Snape's most excellent arm printing (thank you, lego!), here Potter Puppet Pals' "Snape's Diary", which includes the even more excellent Snape's Ode to his Buttons (it begins at the 1:57 mark, but the embedded player doesn't seem to want to start from there):

We now have better quality pictures from Smyths of the new lego Harry Potter Winter 2025 wave sets the nanoscale 76444 Diagon Alley: Wizarding Shops and 76453 Malfoy Manor. They're 2750 and 1601 pieces respectively and due out 01 January 2025. Read more... )

And because he's not included in the Malfoy Manor set, a shout out to Harry and the Potters and their classic, "(No one's asking) 'Where's Ron?'" (aka "Where the hell is Ron?"):
