And we have pix!

Well we finally have pictures of the brand new Gryffindor dorm room set that will be a gift with purchase at the end of the next month (25th October - 7th November), and better yet, purchases that qualify for it can also receive a free Hermione's desk set as well in lego stores. (Or who knows, maybe online too if you're very good at negotiating with customer service like one lady we know and love. (I'm looking at you, E. 😘))

It looks like we're going to get two beds, a school trunk (with a candle and a chocolate frog), plus a frame integrated in the set for displaying our collectible tiles, and possibly four (!) chocolate frog tiles, too? Fingers crossed. (Just in case my enthusiasm isn't coming across, that would be pretty cool. *nods* 😉)

And this is the Hermione polybag that the lego stores will be gifting as well:

Worth noting, she's available with purchases upwards of $40USD. (No word yet on EUR prices.) The polybag comes with one tile. (The polybag also has a window you can see through in order to tell which tile you're getting. Just saying...)

Frankly unexpected, both this early and in its design, but the 2021 Advent Calendar is out and it's cute. WARNING: SPOILERS below the fold. If you like to keep the contents of your calendar a surprise, give this post a pass. It does not reveal what to expect on which day any more than the box art does, but the contents of the calendar are effectively inventoried, so proceed with caution.Read more... )

All in all while not what I was expecting to see (last year I was thinking we'd get Christmas at Grimmauld Place this year), I'm definitely looking forward to it. I fully anticipate it making the holiday season just that little bit more special. ("Same procedure then as last year?" "Same procedure as every year.")

Thanks to Mic Mac for posting the pics. (Link to Flickr, where he has some really beautiful MOC designs, the instructions for a few of which are up on rebrickable. Nice treat: he's posted the instructions for his baby Thestral as a free download. ❤️)

These are all the sets in the current series of Harry Potter lego, arranged approximately chronologically as they occur in the books and films. (Notable exception: the Fantastic Beasts sets are at the end of this list.) Each set is identified by name, set number (linked to its brickset entry), the appropriate films, and the characteristics that make it applicable for a particular book / movie.

Given the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales and Christmas shopping, this seems a useful list to cobble together. This is an attempt to list all the sets from the current series of Harry Potter lego, by year of release, with notes as to which sets are officially retired already or should retire soon, the books / movies they represent, and the minifigs included in the sets.

As for anything that hasn't been listed as "retired" or "retiring", I'd still prioritise buying the older sets off your wishlists first. Stonewars.de is the source for the information on which sets will be retiring soon or in 2021, as for the ones marked "RETIRING NOW" they are currentlydisappearing from lego stores around the world, and brickset lists them as no longer available in some countries' online lego stores. Don't panic, often you can find a recently retired set in toy stores near you, but if you want one, you need to act soon so you won't find yourself paying exorbitant prices on the resale market.

Repost from [livejournal.com profile] gingerbred, 16 November 2020.

Lego has finally officially announced next year's new Harry Potter classroom sets, and they are much better than I was expecting. (Some squeeing may have taken place. Only to be expected really.) We're getting new Minerva, Filius, and Pomona minifigs. (Filius, in particular, is a real departure, representing the much older look actor Warwick Davis wore for the first two films and the first three video game adaptations of the series.) Strangely, Severus seems to have stayed much the same, with the exception of a new waistcoat with collar, but mysteriously sporting even fewer buttons than usual. 😐 (Pfft. They fundamentally fail to understand shippers.)

They'll be available come January 2021 and retail for $29.99 in the US, 29.99 EUR in Germany, £27.99 in the UK.
