So we have first news of what awaits us during the now annual Back to Hogwarts Special Event lego has for the Harry Potter theme starting every September 1st.

IMG_5980.webp

The event will take place 01 - 07 September 2025, with GWPs (gifts with purchase) on offer while supplies last. Experience shows it's worth deciding what, if anything, you want in advance and acting quickly. Please note: the price thresholds for the GWPs may be off, but I'm not sure if this is the result of tariffs. Take them as ballpark figures, and we'll have to wait for official confirmation. I also think there's a good chance the pound and euro numbers are reversed. We'll know soon enough. Read more... )

If you're considering putting together an order for the GWPs, it's worth noting the Harry Potter BrickHeadz go on sale 01 September, and can be used to meet those thresholds. Even if you aren't an avid BrickHeadz collector, they're always worth a consideration for ebay as many people don't order from the lego store directly, although I'm not sure why.

Fateful is back with a new leak, and they've got this summer's version of Fluffy for us. WooHoo! And he's looking good. We can expect it to appear in the 76454 Hogwarts Main Tower set for something like $250 (more on that in a later post), which confirms rumours that it's a Philosopher's Stone / Sorcerer's Stone based set from first year. Heads up! The Back to Hogwarts sales go live right after midnight on the 1st of September (so in the night from 31 August to 1 September). The Gifts with Purchase are only available as long as supplies last, and the Harry Potter GWPs tend to go very quickly, so if you're interested, be prepared to act quickly. Really nice: the GWPs are stackable, so you could conceivably get three of them. 😃 As previously reported, the Draco in the Forbidden Forest Polybag is available with qualifying purchases upwards of $40 / 40 EUR; with qualifying purchases upwards of $130 / 130 EUR, you'll receive the Borgin & Burkes Floo Network set as well; and you'll get the collectible Weasley Clock, too, if you order the Collectors' Edition of the Burrow.

As an added bonus, as part of what's shaping up to be a yearly B2H celebration, many Harry Potter lego sets and accessories are eligible for double VIP (Insiders) points, which equates to a discount off a future purchase of roughly 10% of the current purchase's price. I know that's a complicated way to put it, but it basically boils down to this: if you purchase $100 worth of qualifying items during the 2x event, you could redeem your points to get a $10 discount off a future purchase. Or the points can be redeemed for a variety of exclusive lego sets and collectibles for that matter. In fact... there just so happens to be a special lego Harry Potter reward available only for Insiders via the rewards section...Read more... )

So I made a digital model of the Barnes & Noble Harry Potter lego 2024 "Back to Hogwarts" freebie promotional "Platform 9 3/4" vignette build over on Mecabricks. (Feel free to click through and twist it around and zoom as needed. Or just give me some love there, just saying... 😆) Read more... )

Check your local Barnes & Noble bookstores to see if they're participating and if so, when precisely. (In Tucson, for example, it seems to be taking place a week earlier. SUNDAY, AUGUST 18, 2024 3:00 PM MT. There's one in Georgia on the 23rd. The rest of the HP events seem to be on the 24th or 25th. There are some "lego" events thereafter that may or may not be related.) Some terms and conditions may apply.

And now I've completed the provisional model of the new Diagon Alley set on Mecabricks. It's a cute build. 76439 Lego Harry Potter Diagon Alley: Ollivandersâ„¢ & Madam Malkin's Robes and once yet again, they've changed the naming conventions in contrast to last year's set, eliminating the 'Diagon Alley' bit and including the second shop in the official name. No idea why, they're just making my OCD tendencies go bonkers. (Actually, I do have an idea why, and it's because the main stores are included in the D2C 75978 Diagon Alley set, so they're undoubtably trying to boost visibility for the 'hook' sets in the Diagon Alley-lite series, but that still doesn't soothe my desire to have it all nicely match. Marketing peeps, you know this is just going to cause the tidy little spreadsheet of sets to fail, right? feh) Read more... )

We have more pix from the summer 2024 wave lego Harry Potter 76431 Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class - 397 pieces ($40)! Including a peek at the set folded together... The rear of the box gives us one look at it; the last picture here shows how it would slot into the 76435 Great Hall set. What to note about it: unlike the lavatory and the Hufflepuff Common Room, the set is then closed when folded together. The door can face outwards, however, so it isn't that it doesn't make sense, but it effectively can only be viewed or played with when it is not in the Great Hall set. given the number of people who complain about the inaccessibility or unplayablity (that's totally a word) of the 2021+ modular sets, I think I can predict that will meet with some displeasure. In as much as it won't collect as much dust, I can't say I mind it too much. The sliding feature means the modules are easily removed, the primary issue there is most of the ones they've designed are too open and prone to dust collecting, and storage of the modules is going to be an issue, particularly as they aren't stackable.

There are two 1 x 3 flat tiles on the centre base plate, presumably the opposite side we can't see uses the 1 x 3 jumper plate with two studs. This permits us to anchor the workbenches in a fashion that's easily removed to push it forward or set them off to the side for easier access for play.

There's a clip visible in the ingredients bench that doesn't make too much sense unless it's used to anchor the bench when the set is folded closed. There's a section of brick extending out from one of the arches to the left of the centre plate. On the box front art, it holds the new yellow flask piece, although that's more clearly visible in the first set up of the set somewhat further below. Snape's lectern rests on these bricks when the classroom is folded together. I don't believe it's used to hold the folded set closed, because I think it would need to extend into the massive cauldron's space to do so. That cauldron definitely seems brick built. I'm wondering why that was deemed preferable to the large cauldron piece they have?Read more... )

Pix have leaked from this year's lego Harry Potter 2024 Advent Calendar 76438, and as announced, it is a nice Christmas expansion to the Great Hall 76435 set. There are obviously spoilers, so click below the fold at your own risk. Read more... )

This looks like a great set (assuming the price point doesn't break the bank). I'm looking forward to it already!

So we have leaked pictures of the boxes, which of course means they aren't great. Let that guide your decision to view beneath the fold or not. One of the things its sufficient to provide us with, however, are the names of the thus far unidentified students in the Great Hall. (Hint that means, yes, they are named characters.) If that's sufficient to entice you... Read more... )

We have the first photos of the Summer 2024 lego Harry Potter sets! They're of mixed quality but good enough to give you an idea of what's coming. Having seen them, I feel comfortable making decisions on whether or not I'm likely to purchase the sets anyway.

I got the photos from chaos_lego on an instagram mirror (I'm still stubbornly refusing to give IG my phone number 😆), but they didn't mention where they got them from, so I've no idea where these originated. At least two of the pictures had a watermark from fateful_lego, but I wasn't able to confirm them as a source either. *shrug* As the pix match the description we had last month, I think the chances are very good that these are accurate. Keep in mind, they're unconfirmed, spoilers and not official quality, so proceed beyond the fold with caution. Read more... )
