And the CRESTS, too, for that matter. π (See LJ / DW for details on the Hogwarts Moments classroom books. The crests were introduced here: LJ / DW)
So! It's January! (And a very Happy New Year, everybody! πππ) Which means the aforementioned sets are available on the lego shop@home websites (lego.com) as of today. w00t! (Honestly, chances are pretty good you'll be stuck with a back order status if you didn't order promptly at midnight (I, for one, did not. heh), but no worries. It will get there when it gets there. So why order now? Well, if you were going to anyway, the timing is right. Lego has a number of specials on this month. (Worth keeping in mind, in some countries, you'll be able to get the classroom sets at regular stores where you're often able to get discounts. It pays to know your local market. Germany for one isn't great on sales (compared to the US, say), and this year the prices - due to delivery issues and other coronavirus factors - have pretty much echoed lego's pricing (or worse, been higher. π), so ordering from lego.com won't come at an additional price for me, especially given the offers they're currently running.)
In addition to the Monster Book of Monsters (introduced here: LJ / DW)

orders over $85, 85 EUR or Β£85 will receive a cute retro / vintage convertible while supplies last. (Worst case, even if you aren't interested in the set per se, they tend to fetch a decent resale price on ebay, which should help offset the cost of the Books. ("Oh, so sensible, gingerwitch!" "Why thank you." lol))

Both of these sets appear to be (more or less) exclusive to this offer, and aren't expected to be sold separately in shops, effectively retiring when the offer ends (although that did change with the Bricktober minifig set, so no guarantees). Still, limited run means two things: get while the getting is good, and that resale price just went up again. Noice.
And in what I'm assuming is a bid to try to get people to not storm the website all at once, later in the month (the 18th through the 24th) they'll be offering another freebie with qualifying purchases, your choice of a helicopter or a police water scooter. So if supplies on the first two promotional items last, conceivably you could get three freebies with a single order. (Unfortunately I've lost that gamble in the past when things sold out, so I went ahead and ordered them anyway. (Plus last year's delivery issues are also a consideration.) I guess it boils down to: are you feeling lucky?)

Date: 2021-01-01 10:43 pm (UTC)Sorry to hear it, Toby. *hugs* I plan on celebrating Christmas again when it can be done properly, as it was it was something of a wash for us as well. Maybe that would work for you, too? (Presently I'm envisioning a Christmas in July... Who knows, by then it might be doable.)

Date: 2021-01-03 10:23 am (UTC)I just couldnβt deal with trying to get them through Lego directly since they are on back order. But if anyone is hot on getting them sooner than later, they are available on Amazon. No MBoM deal, but I canβt gamble with the possibility on losing out on getting the 4 sets.

Date: 2021-01-03 01:34 pm (UTC)That said, I have a horrible tendency to over optimise in general, so please ignore me and enjoy the stuffing out of your sets a good month or two before I'm getting mine. π In fact, post pix! (I'd love to see what's behind the wall in the potions set, for example. Or how to squeeze the minifigs into the closed set. Some clever clogs claim they've managed, but I've yet to see proof. heh)
