Malfoy Manor, My Moppets!
Nov. 28th, 2024 01:35 pmAnd now we have interior shots of the Manor, from the 2025 Winter Wave, lego Harry Potter 76453 Malfoy Manor. Shall we see how my predictions did? I think we shall...

76453 Malfoy Manor from the lego Harry Potter Winter 2025 wave | 9 minifigures (and Nagini) | 1601 pieces | US $149.99 - DE/FR €TBA - UK £TBA | Release: 01 JANUARY 2025

There's the room with the long table (easily removed) and massive fireplace and chandelier. A music room with organ, a bathroom, a room with single bed with candle, what looks like a leaky vat in the basement, and possibly two cells. I can't make out what's in the upper left; possibly Lucius' armchair and a candelabra? (So points for: table, fireplace, chandelier, organ and holding cells then. Bedroom and kitchen weren't unlikely, although it would have been nice to have a more obviously Draco-ness to the bedroom. But maybe they're stickers we can't see of his favourite Quidditch teams, a Weird Sisters poster, and perhaps a Death Eater Weekly magazine or trading cards... Bizarrely they've elected to go with a bathroom instead of a library, and then promptly not given us a set of "naked" legs. Obviously I'm being facetious, but Voldemort stuck on the throne when Harry and co. arrive and missing his opportunity because he doesn't eat enough fibre? Yes, I'd definitely giggle, but I do need those naked legs to make the scene work.)

As expected, we have a chandelier that can be dropped on the minifigures so Dobby can have his big moment. Here we see the floor that allows us to release the table and chairs with ease so fighting can take place. I love that the hearth has a sticker inside with the Malfoy 'M' and crest. It reminds me of some of
mywitch's art of the room. There are two very excellent portraits to round out the scene. It's a small detail, but as the Harry Potter sets tend to skew male overall, I like that we have two witches and a girl as the subjects of the portraits, and I always welcome dogs when they put in an appearance.

Some more details show us the kitchen. Because they're posh, Narcissa carries a lobster and they have a golden frying pan and cauldron handle. Two knives are mounted by the fire, one of which will serve Bellatrix well should the need arise. It makes perfect sense that they provide a reason for the knife to be included other than the obvious one. I think an armed suit of armour might have presented another one, but wouldn't have helped lend the rooms a sense of purpose, on the one hand, and would have upped the minifig count on the other, so that was less likely. The kitchen appears to include a small table and chair.
We have the gates with gargoyles and buildable peacocks which I think I'll nick. It provides everything I need for the scene of the walk towards the Manor and lego hedges don't tend to be satisfying enough to justify the piece counts.
Nagini on the table? We're only missing Charity Burbage, but her inclusion was pretty much out of the question.
And finally there's the fountain we've already noted as one of the nice details from the exterior.
Last we have the minifigures once more:
So, now that we've seen more details, what do you think?
