I suspect that's one of those generic HP theme park Galleon coins so as not to visually "limit" it to one region or another by using a Euro or a quarter or something, which is interesting as they now have a large lego Galleon coin that comes with the Gringotts set. (Plus the cute little 1x1 circular tile Galleons.)
