I'll spoiler it just in case.

One of our trusty leakers has just revealed the sets they expect to see hit the shelves in March 2024, and they're all over the place:

76424: $14.99 (165 pcs)

76425: $19.99 (337 pcs)

76426: $37.99 (350 pcs)

76428: $74.99 (896 pcs)

76429: 18+ $99.99 (561 pcs)

76430: $44.99 (364 pcs)

76432: $29.99 (172 pcs)

That's sorted by set number, and helps us see that 76427 and 76431 are missing. Sometimes that's the way it goes, they reconsider and skip a set, and sometimes they pop up later in the year, like for an Advent Calendar or something. But let's try looking at those sets in a different way. Here are the sets sorted by price:

76424: $14.99 (165 pcs)
76425: $19.99 (337 pcs)
76432: $29.99 (172 pcs)
76426: $37.99 (350 pcs)
76430: $44.99 (364 pcs)
76428: $74.99 (896 pcs)
76429: 18+ $99.99 (561 pcs)

What you'll notice is we haven't got four sets at the same price point anymore, so no more banners or books series. For that matter, we haven't got any sets at the same price point, which makes the likelihood of any type of gimmick set along those lines less probable. That doesn't mean they couldn't do something like modular format classrooms in a few different sizes if they were to continue with the 2021+ style, but we're clearly not getting a grouping of the same sized sets anymore.

Also, we're seeing the return of the small sets! (Massive whoop! 😃) This year didn't have any (bonkers!), save the polybag with Cho, which was kind of nuts and shouldn't count. (So let's pretend I didn't mention it. lol)

We've also only seen six sets in the last winter waves, so it's interesting to see them increase the offerings.

Righto, let's look at things from a different angle. Here are the sets sorted by piece count:

76424: $14.99 (165 pcs)
76432: $29.99 (172 pcs)
76425: $19.99 (337 pcs)
76426: $37.99 (350 pcs)
76430: $44.99 (364 pcs)
76429: 18+ $99.99 (561 pcs)
76428: $74.99 (896 pcs)

What you'll notice is two of the sets moved further up in the list (the ones in bold). Contrasting the $15 and $30 dollar sets with a whopping seven piece difference is particularly interesting. Likewise it's probable we'll see large or new moulds in the $100 set to justify its RRP.

For a frame of reference, the 76400 Hogwarts Carriage and Thestrals with Thestral (surprise), brand new baby thestral, Harry and Luna (plus carriage and tree) has only 121 pieces and retails for $20.

The three sets of BrickHeadz (40616 - 40618, 2 figures each) released this summer sell for $20, and range in piece count between 250 and 267 pieces, so the $20 set here feels a little piece heavy (unless they're revisiting Bellatrix' hair... lol).

The sets we've seen sell for $15 in this theme lately are Accessory Packs, which include four minifigs each (40419 with four students and a bookshelf, and 40500 with Harry, an owl and three witchards). They range in piece count from 33 pieces to 53, though, so the only way I see the piece count working is if they made a larger build than the bookshelf and skipped a minifig. A Death Eater AP is a frequent request, goodness knows I've asked for it often enough.

A Forest of Dean set with Snape's doe, or a remake of the Forbidden Forest scene with Narcissa Malfoy (4865 The Forbidden Forest 2011) are two small sets that people have been requesting. A remake of the Halloween Battle with the Troll (4712 Troll on the Loose 2002) from PS is another.

The trunks (76399 and 76416) have sold for $65 and $68, with 603 and 599 pieces each, and it's a steep investment in the "container" with few pieces left over for the actual builds, only one set on the 2024 list has the appropriate price point to be a trunk, and at nearly 900 pieces, that doesn't seem likely, plus from what I can see, they don't seem too popular. This year's trunk is expected to go End of Life already this autumn.

As for the most expensive set, the set with the largest moulds that we've seen so far would likely be the Durmstrang ship, the 2005 version 4768 the Durmstrang Ship had 550 pieces, so that's a possibility for the $100 set.

But as you can see, we haven't got a lot of information to work with yet. We'll probably need to wait for minifigs to leak to be able to guess further. Rest assured, I'll keep you posted as things come.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and projections on the series! Sad about no more books, those were fun builds with lovely foot prints. 💗
