Minifigure Leaks!
Feb. 10th, 2023 12:13 amFive (or maybe six) minifigs from the lego Harry Potter theme have leaked! From the look of them, they're mostly from the Hogsmeade visit in Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry, Hermione, Ron and Draco are anyway (it's consistent both with the outfits and the midi legs we typically see for third and fourth years). It seems there is also the first ever Aberforth Dumbledore (!) minifig, presumably from Order of the Phoenix or Deathly Hallows 2, and Madam Rosmerta has been spotted with the other minifigs, although it looks like she's a repeat of hp290 the minifig included in 76388 the 2021 Hogsmeade set.
If these six were to appear in a single set, the assumption must be an Advent Calendar, as they aren't in the same movies, so the chances are good we'll see a Hogsmeade centred Advent Calendar for the 2023 Harry Potter lego theme, which would thrill me to bits, in general, but also because I've been lobbying (heavily) for the ACs to actually use the seasonally appropriate canonical content.

It looks like our trio are in these outfits, brightened, as usual, to suit the lego palette:

Below we have a clearer version of the four new figs, grouped, as mentioned, with Madam Rosmerta. As her minifig has been released previously, it's not clear that she's included in whatever set this is, but as she's a better fit for these versions of HHR & D than Aberforth is, her inclusion seems likely. A better question might be: is his?

Aberforth doesn't put in an appearance until Order of the Phoenix (where he remains unnamed), and he's there again in Deathly Hallows 2.

This is most likely the outfit bellow. There's a chance we might see a kilt piece for him, which would be most excellent.

I think the characters have been beautifully captured, with the usual caveats as to the brightness. (Aberforth, for example, would have been better served by a dusty purple, possibly Medium Violet, than house colours of Madam Malkin's establishment, the Knight Bus or Stan Shunpike's outfitters'.) But other than that, no complaints here. So far we have four new torsos: Hermione, Ron, Draco and Aberforth; two new head prints: Draco and Aberforth; and three recolours: Hermione's hair / hat combo, Ron's hair / hat combo, and Draco's ushanka.
Food for thought... We still have two sets from the summer wave for which we don't yet know what they're called. One of those - 76422 ???? $89.99 | 834 pieces - fits perfectly with the specs for the other two Hogsmeade sets we've seen since 2021. 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit had 823 pieces and retails for $90 / 90 EUR, 76407 the Shrieking Shack & Whomping Willow had 750 parts and retails for $90 / 90 EUR.
So is it possible Aberforth doesn't belong in the (potential) AC but with a Hogsmeade set instead? What might they include in such a set? OotP, the DA sign ups at the Hog's Head, and possibly a Madam Puddifoot's with Cho and Harry? Or maybe the bridge and Katie Bell instead of the caff? Or a DH2 version where the trio arrives at Aberforth's and makes their way into Hogwarts from there by means of a secret tunnel. That would go nicely with the Room of Requirement set (Room of Hidden Things version) due out this March.
Other than that, there's been an update on the Summer sets. Promobricks reports that they were incorrect when they started the rumour that 76419 was the Knight Bus ($ ??? | 2260 pieces). They haven't said what we can expect other than it should be "perfect", which is a bit of a broad field 😆, other sources, however suggest it will be a Hogwarts Castle & Grounds set, possibly in nano- / microscale. Time will tell.
And one final note: Double VIP points is on from 10 - 16 February. During this time you'll receive twice as many VIP points on all purchases made at LEGO.com S@H (excluding pick a brick), which nets you a roughly 10% rebate towards your next purchase at the S@H. So if you had any larger purchases planned, that would be the time for them.
Personally, I always try to reserve a few items for an eventual GWP (gift with purchase) in the theme.

Date: 2023-02-10 05:32 pm (UTC)I've just spent a silly amount of time on bricklink not able to decide which hat I'd've used for Draco instead. Ultimately I'm going to put Crabbe in the black Ushanka. We really need a Ushanka with the flaps up for Draco, but then we couldn't have his scared face, and that's rather a must. Imperial Guard hat 16497 (unprinted) and Kepi 30135 are both too tailored.
I think with the exception of Aberforth (and there I can't see enough to actually be able to tell), the five torsos we're seeing can be used easily elsewhere, always a good thing budgetwise.
I really wish they'd warm to the other colours they have at their disposal. Plus I can't believe deep purple is more useful in other sets than the tones he was actually wearing.

Yeah, kinda tired of purple being a "go to" color for Dumbledore bros. Even the sand red would have been better, and yes, I remember they retired that color. Too bad, it really works in so many ways.
