12 Grimmauld Place Advent Calendar Day 05
Dec. 6th, 2022 12:06 amWhat If...
What if the 2022 Lego Harry Potter Advent Calendar focused on the Order of the Phoenix's Christmas at 12 Grimmauld Place in 1995? With the release of the lovely Grimmauld Place set this year and an abundance of canonical Christmas material, it seems such a shame that it didn't, so with the magic of Mecabricks, let's just pretend it did... Hey Presto!
The calendar starts here with Day 01.
Day 05 of the 12 Grimmauld Place Advent Calendar

Day five, Fred pops by to lend Harry some company, and perhaps a hand with that massive pudding of his as he's just the very soul of ginger charity, now isn't he? But Fred wasn't raised by wolves by any stretch of the imagination, and quite naturally he wouldn't dream of appearing empty-handed. No, he comes bearing wands for himself and Harry, the scarf Molly made him for Christmas and a couple of Puking Pastilles that he has few qualms threatening Harry with, particularly as he hasn't handed over Harry's wand as yet, no fool he. Threats prove unnecessary, however, as Harry is more than willing to share his afters with his friend.

Our Fred minifig is wearing a custom jumper, something else I suspect Molly may have knitted for him. While rather striking and presumably not as widespread in its potential applications as, say, Harry's custom torso, I imagine there might be at least one other use for the piece to justify its creation. (Thanks to gf again for the torso.)
Running totals:
Total minifig count: 02
Total piece count (excluding minifigs): 50
Of those, custom pieces: 3 (2 torsos, 1 2x2 tile)

I always like to guess what the pieces in the Advent Calendars will build before peeking at the pictures, but here you see them assembled. To compensate for that, I've decided the best approach would be to include a picture of the next day's parts so you can play along at home:
Day 06 Pieces

Guess away!

Some recommendations:
If you like Harry Potter MOCs, checkout the Horizont Alley build.

Date: 2022-12-06 02:29 am (UTC)It's so lovely of Fred to pop by to give Harry some company, and probably some laughs as well. That jumper is awesome to me, I think it's adaptable for use on random minifigs, such as for Horizont Alley? The scarf makes it more flexible to me.
