12 Grimmauld Place Advent Calendar Day 03
Dec. 3rd, 2022 09:17 pmWhat If...
What if the 2022 Lego Harry Potter Advent Calendar focused on the Order of the Phoenix's Christmas at 12 Grimmauld Place in 1995? With the release of the lovely Grimmauld Place set this year and an abundance of canonical Christmas material, it seems such a shame that it didn't, so with the magic of Mecabricks, let's just pretend it did... Hey Presto!
The calendar starts here with Day 01.
Day 03 of the 12 Grimmauld Place Advent Calendar

Day three we'd see the country sink from 12 Grimmauld Place's kitchen. Harry and his friends are lucky, as they won't be using it to do the dishes. Molly Weasley has all manner of Charms for that and more. Or rather, she does and she'll happily apply them, that is unless the children (or Tonks) have been deploying Dungbombs again to see if things are Imperturbed. The things they get up to when she isn't looking... :D

(The sink is visible on the far right at the back of the kitchen. Apologies for the low quality youtube screenshot.)

No new custom pieces today, as I'm mindful of our set's presumptive budget.
Running totals:
Total minifig count: 01
Total piece count (excluding minifigs): 26
Of those, custom pieces: 2 (1 torso, 1 2x2 tile)

I always like to guess what the pieces in the Advent Calendars will build before peeking at the pictures, but here you see them assembled. To compensate for that, I've decided the best approach would be to include a picture of the next day's parts so you can play along at home:
Day 04 Pieces

Guess away!

Some recommendations:
If you like Harry Potter MOCs, checkout the Horizont Alley build.
My Mecabricks models of Advent Calendars in the Harry Potter theme:
