W00t! Promobricks has once again dropped a massive news-bombshell and provided us with many of the set names and descriptions from the lego Harry Potter summer 2022 collection.

76400 | $19.99 | 121 pieces - Hogwarts Carriage with Thestral. OotP. Presumably contains the aforementioned Thestral (anything else would be weird) in addition to a baby Thestral (in a lego first), Harry and Luna, complete with a small tree with mushrooms to round out the scene. (We didn't have a tree set last year, so we were overdue. 😉)

76401 | $49.99 | 345 pieces - Sirius' Rescue - re-make of 2004's 4753. PoA. An extension to 2021's modular castle, this set includes the Dark Tower and two arches from the courtyard which contains a fountain. We haven't really had any of the castle's outdoor locations (aside from the Quidditch Pitch), so that's nice. We can expect to see Sirius, Harry, Hermione and Ginny in the set plus Buckbeak. (Sirius really wasn't likely to go anywhere without him. 😉) No Dementors are included as they'll be appearing in another of this summer's sets... (Whatever could it be???)

76402 | $79.99 | 654 pieces - Dumbledore's Office - re-make of 2002's 4729. Another modular castle extension, apparently this will be the first corner building of the reboot format. No word on what we'll get beyond the Headmaster's office, although there are two smaller builds extending at 45* angles off of a larger central one. Minifigures include Professors Dumbledore, McGonagall and Snape, Caretaker Argus Filch with his beloved cat Mrs. Norris, and Harry and Cho. We don't know yet which scene this is meant to depict.

76403 | $99.99 | 990 pieces - Ministry of Magic - OotP. The largest of the presently known lego Harry Potter summer 2022 sets is the Ministry of Magic building in another first for the theme. The description was a little difficult to follow, but the set is primarily composed of the large window fronts to six of the offices where the Ministry employees toil. The office cubicles are between four and six studs in depth and roughly ten studs wide and are accessible from the rear. An archway serves as a bridge to connect two offices, and another small module might represent the Hall of Prophecies. The Ministry fountain (complete with golden minifig) puts in an appearance. Other minifigs include Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dolores Umbridge, Arthur Weasley, Lucius Malfoy, two Dementors and another character, whom Promobricks guesses could be Fenrir Greyback. The set consists of 990 parts and costs 99.99 euros. The unknown fig might be Dudley instead, so they could re-create the scene that lands Harry in front of the Wizengamot, but that's HBP, so... And there were certainly several Death Eaters to choose from in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries scene. Dolohov comes to mind if we're including Hermione.

(Have to say I adore their Denglish. It's always nice to know you aren't the only one who does it. 😆)

76404: Advent Calendar | $44.99 | 344 pieces - no further details available at this time

76405 | $469.99 (D2C) - no further details available at this time

76406 | $49.99 (brick built creature) | 671 pieces - GoF. A brick built version of the Hungarian Horntail. It's unclear if it will be in scale with 2019's 75946 First Task.

76407 | $89.99 | 777 pieces - Shrieking Shack - modern re-make of 2004's 4756. PoA. The Shrieking Shack! Nuff said. Which is good, because that's about all that's known. 😆 This could be the scene with the snowball fight with Draco from early in PoA on the first trip to Hogsmeade or this could be the scene where the Golden Trio finally corners Sirius, concusses poor Snape and Pettigrew somehow escapes. Yet again. Underestimated character that Pettigrew.

Considerations... We'll be seeing a number of characters from the PoA confrontation scene. Hermione, Harry and Ron appear in their Shrieking Shack outfits in the Infirmary set (76398: Hogwarts Hospital Wing), we'll get Sirius in the Sirius' Rescue set and Snape in Dumbledore's Office. Beyond them, we'd still be missing Sirius' dog form, Lupin, the Werewolf version of Lupin, Pettigrew and Scabbers, and if we're being sticklers (have you met me?), Crookshanks. If this is indeed that scene, I'd expect those minifigs to be more likely to put in an appearance. But along other lines, it's very unusual to not see Draco appear somewhere in a given year's catalogue, so that first Hogsmeade trip remains a definite possibility. If so, Lupin could appear in one of the castle sets instead.

76408 | $119.99 - no further details available at this time

And that's all she wrote for now. Draco and Hagrid are glaring absences in the list. As mentioned, Draco may yet put in an appearance in the Shrieking Shack set, but it looks like we'll have to wait until the inevitable Hagrid's Hut remake to see the half-Giant again. On the other side of the coin, we're getting far too many McGonagall's, but fewer Snapes than we used to. It's an odd shift. It seems the Slytherins are less popular than the used to be, and the poor Hufflepuff seem to have gone without any representation at all this round. 😕 The MoM set is the biggest surprise on the list, I assume the Fantastic Beasts movies have made that a more sensible choice than some of the other obvious guesses for the lineup, but I'm frankly stunned they haven't included a remake of the Second Task set, or the Durmstrang ship for that matter. Not that I particularly wanted the ship, but we haven't had a Karkaroff yet, and boats go over very well with a lot of the non-Potterheads AFOLs (adult fans of lego). Of course there's always the $120 set which could be end up being a combination of both of those... 😐 Hmm. I'm hoping (against hope) it will be Grimmauld Place instead. 😉
