I mean, I feel like I got good value for the DA set, and the parts per money spent aren't the only or universal metrics, yada yada, but this one had me more hesitant than I expected I'd be now that I've seen good pix, if that makes sense? Usually, whether I plan on getting it or not, there's more sense of wonder, being charmed in my response. My first reaction to the pictures was literally to think they were a hoax because the Three Broomsticks was just so centred and looks like some MOCs, and Honeydukes doesn't really seem to be much by way of an improvement, and the minifigs aren't bringing enough 'new' to the table... Half the set is kind of phoning it in, and the other the other half is too rudimentary. It felt like a fan's AI creation. A good one, as you know, but just not like the finished, official product. And going out on a limb here, but I'm betting that just isn't the reaction a company would be hoping for when they present their luxury line.
It'll grow on me, I know it will, but the initial response is I had hoped for more — not in terms of size; I'm very mindful of the budget — and clearly won't be getting it.
