As someone recently pointed out, we're more likely to see sales on these than we did on Diagon Alley, so maybe it isn't such a wash. Personally, I'm still hoping they eventually get around to releasing a DA2 with proper builds for Malkin's and Pottages, Eeylops and Owl Post etc, as opposed to these anaemic versions.
