More Photos! Diagon Alley and.... Potions! Plus some sets with their boxes...

And thanks to JBSpielwaren, we now have more pictures of the lego Harry Potter Summer 2024 wave of sets, primarily the Diagon Alley sets and the Potions set. w00t! We also have box pix from several of the others, so without further ado...

76439 Ollivander and Madame Malkin stores - 744 pieces (ca. $90 - $100). Continuing the expansion of more affordable Diagon Alley sets started with 2023's 76422 Diagon Alley: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes (& the Owl Post), we return to the Wizarding shopping district once more.



They've managed to salvage Madame Malkin's some from the exterior. The interior with it's too small footprint is still a bit of a problem, though. Given a good sale, this ends up on the maybe list, but I still can't help feeling it's too much retreading of covered territory.

And finally, the set we've been waiting for! The new Potions Class complete with new Snape! 76431 Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class - 397 pieces ($40):


Those window arches could have been a bit longer, as they're one of the room's defining features, and of course the odd shape is dictated by the need to fit into the new modules, but I'll definitely pick up this set, although honestly I'll probably still wait for a sale. I don't know that they've done themselves any favours with such bulky walls that boost the price for a single class to this level. I hope it pans out for them.

LOVE the more detailed pix on all! They Finally gave us a new Snape, with the eyebrow! Seems like a better face this time, I hope!

So it looks like we'll get 2 portraits and 2 new moulds, those latter in two colours each! WooHoo! I think the large cauldron is brick built. The potions ingredients are cool. I wonder if covers for them would work. I'll experiment with that when I get my hands on one, and I'm going to see if there is some way to extend those window arcs. The Potions Class and the advent calendar are the two sets from the summer / autumn wave I'm most excited about.

Totally agree about the 2 sets to be excited about! I am happy they are giving us some alternate colored spiders to go with the Anglia & Forbidden Forest sets. Really love the new variety of wands in Ollivanders!!! Malfoy's snake head cane/wand, slightly bent wands, varieties of colors and what seems like Hermione's vine wrapped wand concept!

Considering how critical the wands are to the series, it's really nice to see them getting this kind of attention. Even the wand piece we already had was such an improvement over the simple bar, but this is cool shoes. ❤️🥰

And adding variety to the spiders is also very cool. 😎
