Two Lego Harry Potter Winter 2025 Leaks!
And the leaking season has begun! We have first pictures of what appear to be the Nanoscale Diagon Alley and the Malfoy Manor sets... Pictures and set info below the fold.
76444 Diagon Alley: Wizarding Shops - $199.99 2750 pieces

As we'd guessed, this is a nanoscale version of the famous Wizarding shopping street, complete with nanofigures / statuettes. It is a little odd they seem to have continued the "Diagon Alley" naming convention, but it helps explain why we're seeing a DA set in winter.
On the right are most of the stores from the 2020's 75978 Diagon Alley D2C. It's difficult to say if that's a Muggle facade on Weasley's Wheezes, or perhaps a Zonko's? It's probably Muggle as we have a phone booth in front of it. Then comes Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, Flourish & Blotts, what looks like it might be Fortescue's, UNKNOWN, Ollivander's, Scribbulus, and I'm not sure what the store next to Gringotts is supposed to be. The left side is less clear, we've got the Quality Quidditch Supply Store that was missing on the right. Thankfully, it looks like they've done a recolour of the upper floor. Next door is Madam Malkin's robes store that we've seen in the smaller DA sets (76439 Ollivanders & Madam Malkin's Robes), this one released last summer. The Owl Post doesn't seem to be reflected in the line up, unless it's the shop beside Scribbulus. I'm guessing the ugly thing at the corner is the Leaky Cauldron, which is fine as it's canonically ugly; the Knight Bus beside it is nicely done.
On the one hand I hope this means we'll see a second Diagon Alley D2C, on the other, the stores don't immediately pique my interest, but that may simply be a question of scale. In fact, it's probably that, because I find the D2C DA charming, and the nanoscale version here not so very much. I do, however, think I'd prefer a Knocturn Alley to a second DA at this point, because it's more likely to offer creative design, interesting details and a different aesthetic. My primary interest in DA post D2C was Gringotts, and they've nuked that as the set, while beautifully done, is just so unnecessarily price inflated. The vaults were a cool idea, definitely, but budget budget budget, people. I've neither the space nor the precious monies for it. C'est la vie.
76453 LEGO Harry Potter Malfoy Manor - $149.99 1601 pieces

And now for the more interesting leak... As we can see from the artwork below, they've done an alright job capturing the feel of the building.

Upfront, let's just acknowledge the middle section is lacking in depth. But it's worth noting that we don't have very much by way of contents for the building.
erexen and gf have worked with me a lot on a MOC of the build, and it's basically a dungeon (where Luna and Ollivander are imprisoned and Pettigrew is killed), the ballroom (in which Hermione is tortured and Dobby gets fatally knifed) with the chandelier, a long table (on which Charity is eaten by Nagini) that may or may not be in the same room, and potentially a library, so a thin facade means they don't need to fill these spaces with made up things. WB tends to frown on that.
But! They have cute gates, complete with those little gargoyles (*swoon*) we saw in the Wednesday dormitory set. They haven't wasted a ton of pieces on a thoroughly unsatisfactory hedge. (Thank you!) There appear to be two white peacocks. A cute fountain, a little statue, decorative snakes... Minifigure-wise, it looks like we'll get nine: a disguised Harry, Draco, his parents, Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy, Luna and Dobby, Hermione and Bellatrix, and somewhat strangely, Voldemort (and Nagini) but no Ron. Personally, Ron isn't my favourite, they need to serve both the male and female fandoms, and we have plenty of Rons... but this is the second time we're not getting the DH2 Ron, because he wasn't in the BoH set either. It's also weird having Voldemort instead of Scabbers/ Peter Pettigrew. Scabior we saw in the BoH, so I wouldn't expect him here, too. It's interesting to see that they aren't using skirt pieces, but are going with legs, so perhaps there are play features on the reverse that make them a better choice.
I'll keep you posted when we know more.

Was incredibly excited about Malfoy Manor, though really not impressed by how terribly shallow it seems? No clue why they included Moldyshorts & Nagini, I mean... the Hermione torture scene is surprising enough, but the murder of Burbage & feeding her to Naginin scene seems a Bit beyond what would normally be seen in Lego? And if that scene was in mind, where is Snape? Not bothered in the slightest by missing Weasely. I love the facade of the manor, but really hope for a nice interior for action play. Hoping there are portraits too! Wondering how they designed the chandelier? The gate With Gargoyles is terrific!!! Interesting way to do the white peacocks as brick builds. Like the statuary & the fountain as nice bits & bobs.
Not sure how I feel about nano DA, going to have to let it percolate in my mind for a bit.

As for Snape, we just had an excellent one in an affordable set that will probably be on the shelves at least as long as the Manor is, so I wouldn't have expected him here. They can't include everyone, and the selection allows for a good expansion for the BoH, too, while still covering the necessary scenes here. I liked the gargoyles and peacocks a lot, too.
As for the nano set, I've got the smaller scale GWP from a few years back, and won't be tempted at this price point. I still look forward to seeing what they've done, as it may give us a hint as to what we might see in the future.
